🚀 Starting a Round ▼

Step 1 — Round Type: Choose Stroke Play, Match Play, or Golf Event. For Golf Events, also pick Single Day or Multi-Day.
Step 2 — Scoring Method: e.g. Net Stroke Play, Gross, Stableford. For Golf Events, Ryder Cup is the team match-play format.
Step 3 — Course & Date: Search by name, use 📍 Near Me for GPS, or add a course manually. Pick the round date.
Step 4 — Who's Playing: Add players, assign tee boxes, and enter each player's Handicap Index (HI). Tap 🔍 to look up via GHIN, or use 👥 From Buddies.
Step 5 — Side Games: Add Nassau, Wolf, Skins, etc. with stakes. A join code is shown here — share it so others can join before you lock.
When everyone has joined, tap Lock & Start to begin the round.

💡 A 6-digit round code is generated at setup. The same code works for all days of a multi-day event.

📱 Joining a Round ▼

Two ways to join:

Watch Live (anonymous): enter the code in the Watch Live box — no sign-in needed. View-only access to the leaderboard and ledger.
Sign in + Join: sign in with Google, then enter the code. You'll see the full leaderboard and can claim the scorekeeper role for your group.

💡 For multi-day events the same join code works every day — rejoin with the same code on Day 2 and Day 3.

🏆 Golf Events ▼

Golf Events are for large groups, tournaments, and golf trips — multiple tee times or multiple days.

Single Day: one course, multiple tee times. Perfect for a club tournament or group outing. Add all players, assign tee times, and run event-wide side games (like Skins) across the full field.
Multi-Day: different courses or formats each day — ideal for golf trips. The same join code works every day.

Multi-Day / Ryder Cup:

Choose Ryder Cup for team competition. Assign players to Team A and Team B during setup.
Course, groups, and day format are set each morning from the Event Hub — things can change daily.
The Event Hub shows each day as a card. Tap Set Up → to pick the course, assign tee times, and choose the Day Format:
- Match Play — groups compete head-to-head (Foursomes, Four-Ball, or Singles). Set a handicap allowance % per group.
- Team Stroke Play — each team's combined net score wins the day.
- Birdies — tally every birdie (gross or net) across all groups. Slide to 0 for a tiebreaker, or 1–10 to award real points.
Each day has a Points Available slider (0–10). Set to 0 to use the day as a tiebreaker with no points awarded.
Each group gets a live banner showing the current standing.
The leaderboard shows running Ryder Cup points across all days.
Tap ✓ Mark Day Complete when done — a shareable results summary generates automatically.

💡 Mix formats freely — Match Play on Day 1, Birdies as a tiebreaker on Day 2, Team Stroke Play on Day 3.

📋 Scorekeepers ▼

For networked rounds and events, each group needs a designated scorekeeper — the manager doesn't have to score every group.

Before the round: the manager can self-assign from the Lock & Start lobby. Each group shows an I'll Score button.
After joining: signed-in players see a 📋 Scorekeeper panel on the leaderboard. Tap I'll Score to claim the scorekeeper role for your group.
Only the claimed scorekeeper (and the manager) can enter scores for that group. Everyone else is view-only.
Tap Release to unclaim if someone else should take over.
For multi-day events, scorekeeper assignments reset each day — each group re-claims their role fresh each morning.

💡 Watch Live (anonymous) viewers never see the scorekeeper panel — they have read-only access only.

📁 My Courses ▼

Save frequently played courses so you don't have to search for them every round.

Tap 📁 My Courses on the home screen to manage your saved courses.
Search for any course and tap Save to My Courses — it stores the full tee data (slope, rating, stroke index).
On the course selection step, your saved courses appear at the top for one-tap selection.
Saved courses are tied to your account and available across devices.

💡 Private or custom courses can be entered manually and saved for future rounds.

⛳ Entering Scores ▼

Tap any score cell on the scorecard to enter a score.
Quick buttons appear for Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey, Double, Triple.
Use the +/− stepper at the bottom to enter any other score.
The leaderboard and money ledger update in real time across all connected devices.
When done, tap Finish & Save Round to record it in history.

⚖️ Handicap Allowance (HCI %) ▼

Handicap Allowance (HCI %) scales each player's course handicap before strokes are allocated. It lets you control how much handicap is in play — 100% is full handicap, 80% is common for team formats, 0% plays scratch.

100% (default): Full course handicap applied. Best for singles match play, stroke play, and Nassau.
80%: The standard allowance for team formats like Four-Ball, Wolf, Scotch, BBB, and Vegas — levels competition without eliminating handicap entirely.
Custom: Set any value from 0–100% in 5% increments. Use lower percentages to tighten competition in low-handicap groups.

Where to find the slider:

Side games (Wolf, Four-Ball, BBB, etc.) — each game card has its own HCI % slider.
Events — the Day Setup screen has a per-group HCI % slider for the main match format.
Nassau — always uses 100% (strokes are calculated per pairing at full handicap).

How it shows on the scorecard:

A ● red dot on a hole means that player receives a handicap stroke on that hole, at the active HCI %. The legend below the card shows the current percentage.
If multiple games have different HCI % settings, the lowest percentage across all active team games is used for the dots.
Nassau strokes vary per pairing — they can't be shown as shared dots. Instead, tap any score cell to see your stroke allocation for each Nassau match on that hole.

💡 For a fair competitive round with high handicappers, try 80% for team games and 100% for any Nassau side bets in the same group.

🤝 Nassau ▼

Nassau is three bets in one: Front 9, Back 9, and Total 18. Each bet is settled separately.

Played net (after handicap strokes) by default.
In a 1v1 Nassau, strokes are based on just those two players — not the full group.
Auto-press: a new side bet automatically starts when you're down by 1 or 2 holes.
Carry ties: if the front 9 ends in a tie, the front 9 bet carries over to the back 9.

💡 You can have multiple Nassau matches in one round — e.g. Jason vs Tim and Jason vs Jay are separate games.

🔔 Nassau Press ▼

A press is a new side bet that starts mid-round — separate from the original Nassau bets.

Auto-Press: set in the Nassau game card — a press triggers automatically when a player is down by 1 or 2 holes.
Manual Press: tap the 🔔 Press button on the scorecard at any time to start a press on demand. Any player can call one.
Each press is its own bet, tracked separately. Multiple presses can stack.
The final ledger shows all original bets plus every press, settled individually.

💡 Manual presses let you call a press at a strategic moment — not just when you're automatically down.

🐺 Wolf ▼

The Wolf rotates each hole based on the tee order.

After watching tee shots, Wolf picks a partner — or goes Lone Wolf (2×) for double stakes.
Blind Wolf: Wolf calls it before any tee shots are hit — pays out at 3× if they win.
Winners collect $ Per Man from every loser individually.
Set tee order in the Wolf game card — it determines who is Wolf on each hole.

Options:

Hammers: any player can throw a hammer mid-hole to double the current bet. Hammers stack; declining forfeits at the pre-hammer rate.
Birdie / Eagle Bonus: the winning side earns a multiplier for birdies and eagles — choose Birdie 2× / Eagle 3× or Birdie 2× / Eagle 4×. Set whether it applies to Net or Gross scores.
Carry Rule: tied holes can carry forward — choose from no carry, unlimited, or a max of 1, 2, or 3 carries.
Cry Baby / Chaser: enter a dollar amount on any hole in the Wolf per-hole table to override the stake for that hole. The wolf on that hole is set manually via the Wolf row — great for last-3-holes comeback bets.

💡 Recommend 80% handicap allowance for Wolf since it's a team game.

🐺 3-Man Wolf ▼

A Wolf variant designed for exactly 3 players.

The Wolf rotates each hole (same tee order logic as standard Wolf).
Wolf picks one partner — making a 2v1 — or goes Lone Wolf (2×) to play solo against both opponents.
No four-player dynamics — a cleaner format for a threesome.
Hammer and Eagle Multiplier options are available the same as standard Wolf.

💡 Use 3-Man Wolf when one player is missing or you only have 3 in the group.

🪙 Coin Flip Wolf ▼

A Wolf variation for 4 or 5 players — no rotating wolf, no tee order. Every player flips Heads or Tails on every hole. Same flip = partners.

Teams: 2v2 or 1v3 (4 players) · 2v3 or 1v4 (5 players).
Flat $ per man — no solo double. A lone 1v3 player who wins collects $X from each of the 3 opponents.
Solo holds the hammer: the lone player's side must throw first. Hammers stack; declining forfeits at the current rate.
Ghost Partner (optional): a solo player gets a phantom partner who scores net par. The solo uses the better of their own net vs par. Throwing a hammer forfeits the ghost that hole.
Everyone for Themselves: if all players flip the same, bet doubles, hammer is fully open (any player), and lowest net score wins. Any tie = push/carry.

💡 In the per-hole table: "Wolf side" = H-team (or solo team), "Opp side" = T-team. Scorecard cells are shaded blue (H) or orange (T).

💰 Skins ▼

Win a hole outright (lowest score in the group) to claim a skin worth $ Per Skin.

Score Basis: choose Gross to play off raw scores, or Net to play off handicap-adjusted scores. When Gross is selected the handicap allowance slider is hidden since it has no effect.
Ties carry the pot forward to the next hole (if carryover is on).
A carried skin can grow large if several holes tie in a row.
If the final hole ties, the pot is split or voided depending on your house rules.

💡 For a group-level skins game, use Skins. For a tournament-wide pot across all tee times, use Skins (Event-Wide).

🏅 Skins (Event-Wide) ▼

A tournament-wide skins pot for large groups spanning multiple tee times. Every player buys in — the total pot is split equally among all skins won across the full field.

Buy-In Per Player ($): everyone contributes this amount. Total pot = buy-in × number of players.
Score Basis: Gross (raw scores) or Net (handicap-adjusted). Gross is most common for tournament skins.
Carryover: ties can carry the skin to the next hole, building bigger prizes.
Payouts are proportional — win more skins, collect a larger share of the pot minus your buy-in.

💡 Add Skins (Event-Wide) from the Event-Wide Games section on the Side Games step — it appears there because it spans all tee times, not just one group.

🎯 Quota ▼

Each player earns Stableford points per hole relative to par.

Standard: Eagle=4, Birdie=3, Par=2, Bogey=1, Double+=0.
Each player has a quota target based on their handicap (36 minus course handicap).
Settle up: pay/collect $ Per Point based on how far above/below quota you finish.
Buy-in pot option: pool a set amount and pay out to top finishers.

🐍 Snake ▼

Nobody wants to hold the snake at the end of the round.

A player "takes the snake" for an infraction (typically a 3-putt).
The snake transfers each time someone else commits the same infraction.
Whoever holds the snake at the end of 18 pays the group $ Per Snake.
Mark who has the snake each hole directly on the scorecard.

🎲 Other Games ▼

Bingo Bango Bongo — Three points per hole:

Bingo: first ball on the green.
Bango: closest to the pin once all balls are on the green.
Bongo: first ball in the hole.

9 Point (Baseball / 5-3-1) — A threesome game. Each hole's 9 points split by net score:

Low score = 5, middle = 3, high = 1.
Ties share the combined points of their spots: two tie low → 4/4/1, two tie high → 5/2/2, three-way tie → 3/3/3.
2-stroke sweep: beat both opponents by 2+ net strokes to take all 9.
Birdies Double (option): a gross birdie doubles every point on the hole; a gross eagle triples it (stacks with the sweep — a gross birdie vs two bogeys = 18).
Cry Baby (option): on the closing holes (16-18 or 17-18) the trailing player sets a higher $/point as a comeback lever.

Vegas — Team scores are combined into a 2-digit number (lower score first). The difference in those numbers is the point swing. High swings happen when one team has a big mismatch (e.g. birdie + double).

Round Robin (2-man teams) — Partners rotate every 6 holes. Settle up per 6-hole segment based on best-ball score.

🥃 Scotch ▼

A 6-point team game for 4 players (2 per team). Points are awarded each hole:

2 pts — Low Net: the player in the group with the lowest net score.
2 pts — Team Low Net Total: the team with the lower combined net score for the hole.
1 pt — Closest to Pin: tap the 📍 button on the scorecard to manually award after each hole.
1 pt — Gross Birdie: automatically awarded to any team that records a gross birdie or better.

Options:

Team Method: Captain's Draft (Wolf-style picking), Sixes (rotate partners every 6 holes), or High/Low HCP (lowest and highest HI are partners).
Umbrella Rule: if one team sweeps all 6 points on a hole, the hole's total doubles to 12 points.
Crack / Crack Back: any player can call a "crack" before a hole to double the point value. The opposing team can crack back (4×), and further cracks stack.

💡 Scotch is great for 4-player groups — the mix of individual and team points keeps everyone engaged on every hole.

🏦 Banker ▼

A 1-vs-all side game. One player — the Banker — plays against every other player each hole for a per-hole wager.

After each hole, the player with the lowest net score becomes the Banker for the next hole.
The Banker wins or pays out to each opponent individually.
Press / Counter-double: before the hole, any challenger can press (double the wager). The Banker can counter-double (4×), and cracks can stack further.

Options:

Min Wager / Hole: the base bet before any pressing.
Ties: Push (nobody wins) or Banker Wins.
Bogey Rule: if the Banker makes a bogey or worse, they automatically lose to all opponents regardless of net scores.
Birdie Bonus: a birdie by the winning side pays out at 2×.
Rotation Tie-Breaker: when two players tie for low net, this setting determines who banks next (Banker Retains, Longest Putt, First to Hole Out, Closest to Pin, or Tee Flip).

💡 Banker is best with 3–6 players. The press/counter-double feature makes the closing holes especially exciting.

♟️ Handicaps & Allowances ▼

Enter each player's Handicap Index (HI) — this is your official GHIN number.
The app converts HI to a Course Handicap using the course's slope and rating.
Strokes are distributed across holes by stroke index (SI 1 = hardest hole).
For individual matches (Nassau), strokes are anchored to the lowest HI in that match only.
For group games (Wolf, Skins), strokes are anchored to the lowest HI in the full group.

Handicap % Allowance slider:

100% = full handicap (default for Nassau and individual games).
80% = recommended for Wolf and team games.
0% = scratch play, no strokes given.

👥 My Buddies ▼

Save your regular playing partners so you can add them to a round in one tap.

Tap 👥 My Buddies on the home screen to manage your list — add, view, or delete buddies.
Each buddy stores their name, GHIN number, and Handicap Index.
On the player entry step, tap 👥 From Buddies to pick a saved player and auto-fill their slot.
When you manually enter a player with a GHIN, the app will prompt you to save them as a buddy for next time.

💡 Your buddy list is tied to your account and available every round — no re-entering names and handicaps.

📍 Course Search & GPS ▼

Tap 📍 Near Me on the course step to automatically search for courses at your current location.
Your browser will ask for location permission — tap Allow for GPS to work.
The app detects your city and searches GolfCourseAPI for nearby courses with real tee data (rating, slope, par, stroke index).
You can also search by name (e.g. "Barton Creek") if you prefer.
Selecting a course from search loads real tee data so handicap strokes are calculated correctly.

💡 GPS works best when you're at or near the course. If Near Me returns too many results, search by the course name directly.

💵 Settle Up ▼

After the round, tap the Settle Up button on the leaderboard.

The app calculates the minimum number of transactions to settle all debts.
Each player can enter their Venmo handle (e.g. @jason-inmon).
Tap Pay on Venmo to open Venmo with the amount and recipient pre-filled.
Tap Share Ledger to copy or share the full settlement summary.

💡 Venmo handles are saved so you don't have to re-enter them next round.

👤 My Account ▼

Access your profile any time by tapping your name in the round bar at the top, or the ⚙️ button next to your name on the home screen after login.

Profile: update your display name, GHIN number, and Handicap Index. Changes save instantly.
Security: tap Send Password Reset Email to change your password via email.
History & Money: jump to your full round history or Season Money Ledger directly from here.
This Season: see your rounds played, total money won/lost, and average score for the season.

💡 Your GHIN number links you automatically as a participant when your group saves a round — even if you joined with a guest code.

💳 Season Money Ledger ▼

The Season Money Ledger tracks all money won and lost across every completed round you've been part of. Open it from My Account → Season Money Ledger, or ask Caddie to open it.

Standings tab: net money won/lost per player across all rounds this season — see who's up and who owes at a glance.
By Round tab: every completed round listed with the money result for each player.
Settle: tap the settle button on any round to mark it as paid. Settled rounds are excluded from the outstanding balance.

💡 Only players who were part of a round can see it — scores and money stay private to your group.

🏌️ Caddie — AI Game Manager ▼

Caddie is SidieGolf's built-in AI assistant. Tap the Ask Caddie bar at the top of any active round screen to open it.

Full round setup by voice or text: describe what you want and Caddie handles everything — course, players, side games, tee assignments, teams.
Course search: Caddie searches your saved courses and the live course database automatically — just say the name.
Players from My Buddies: Caddie looks up players in your Buddies list, so handicaps and GHIN numbers are always accurate.
Side games with full options: "Add Wolf, $5/man, hammers on, birdie 2x / eagle 3x." Caddie sets every field. Cry Baby/Chaser amounts are entered hole-by-hole in the per-hole table.
Events & Ryder Cup: assign players to groups, set day formats, manage teams — all by conversation.
Scoring: "Enter Jason 4, Craig 3, Tim 5 on hole 7." Caddie writes directly to the scorecard.
Standings: ask "Who's winning?" or "What's the current ledger?" at any time.
My Account & Ledger: "Open my account" or "Show the season ledger" — Caddie navigates there for you.
Feedback: "I found a bug" or "Feature request: …" — Caddie collects it and sends it straight to the team.

Voice input:

Tap the 🎤 mic button in the Caddie chat bar to speak — no keyboard pops up.
Caddie auto-submits when you stop speaking. Works in Chrome and Safari; allow mic access when prompted.
